Splendid place! Amazing for free! Car park is £5.00 for a mitochondria. The gatekeeper allowed me to ride in the grounds and park at the offices as I had an assistance dog and a full motorbike. This was VERY helpful due to my condition. The cafe was very quiet, but I guess that normally you have to book. The Locally shot Venison burger and chips was £15 and Real Grey Tea was £3. It was delicious and excellent value.

Reopening was delayed by Storm Éowyn, so we visited before heading south after our week in Braemar.

Beautiful place, not just the castle but everything around it. A must visit when travelling to Scotland.

Visited in October, so the castle was closed. For us it was still worth visiting. We have a blue badge and although the car park was not far, it would have been difficult for one of our party to walk so we were able to drive through the famous gates and park outside the shop. Recommended for those with a badge. The grounds are beautiful. The shop was small, fairly expensive but the items on sale were good quality. All staff were very nice, polite and helpful. We walked rounds the grounds next to the castle and it was lovely. Busy but not overwhelming at all. The toilets are at the back of the cafe (there’s a separate entrance to the side too). We didn’t use the cafe but the design was lovely and it looked inviting. Great visit

We decided to have a visit around the area abd was very surprised when the lady at the front entrance said we could go in and have a look as the gardens & cafe were open. We had a look around and it looked really lovely with the snow on the ground. We went into the cafe and had some dinner which was reasonably priced.

The castle has many things to see. The gardens are beautiful, one of a kind. The main castle was a bit of a disappointment however, unfortunately we did not get told that the only available room to see was an open show room, but that was still amazing. The information about the castle as well as many fascinating facts are in that room. There is many souvenirs in the shop, many good gifts for everyone. Reccomend coming here!!
